As individuals are arrested and booked in our jail, their personal belongings are inventoried and stored in the property room. All personal items (keys, ID, wallet, jewelry, etc.) are placed into a sealed, valuable bag. Their clothing is stored separately for them to wear when they are released from jail or transferred to another facility.
An inmate may release all their property and/or a specified amount of money from storage to a designee, except for the set of clothing. Property will not be released as individual items; the entire sealed, valuable bag must be taken - is an "all or nothing" transaction.
The inmate is required to sign a property release form before any item(s) and/or money will be released. Please make sure the inmate has signed the form before you arrive to our jail facility.
To pick up an inmate’s property, you are REQUIRED to show a valid photo ID.

Any time of the day or night, arrangements may be made if a property release is necessary to secure an inmate's release.
At the Travis County Jail Central Booking Facility, individuals can release their valuables to facilitate their release Sunday – Friday 24/7.
Inmates being transferred to prison must designate a specific person whom they authorize to receive their property. Items not picked up within 30 days will be discarded.
If there is any missing property, you will need to contact the arresting agency.
