Senior Deputy Jake McDonald

Jake has served with the TCSO since October 2016, bringing nine years of dedicated law enforcement experience across Corrections and Patrol. He graduated from Texas State University in 2016 and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Jake began his career with TCSO in Building 12 as a Corrections Officer, where he served from 2016-2018 before graduating from the TCSO Basic Peace Officer Course in July 2018. He transferred to the Law Enforcement Bureau as a patrol deputy, working West Patrol Evenings from 2018-2025, where he developed proficiency in handling complex calls involving family violence and sex crimes. In 2021, his effective response to sexual assault investigations led the Victims Services Unit to recommend and select him to participate in the filming of sexual assault response scenarios used for Victim Services training. That same year, he was awarded the Life Saving Award for rescuing a civilian from a burning vehicle moments before it became fully engulfed in flames. From 2023-2025, Jake served as a Field Training Officer (FTO), mentoring and evaluating new deputies by modeling officer safety, sound decision-making, and professional community engagement. In 2025, he began assisting with the FTO School as an adjunct instructor, supporting the development and instruction of future Field Training Officers. Outside of work, Jake is an avid car and aviation enthusiast, enjoys riding motorcycles, and loves to travel.
Senior Corrections Officer Jennifer "Jenni" Schmidt
Jenni has been with the Travis County Sheriff’s Office since July of 2010. She began her career at the Travis County Correctional Complex in Building 3, where she quickly became a Field Training Officer (FTO). In 2013, Jenni was assigned to the Prisoner Transportation Unit where she spent eight years. During her time in Transportation, she earned her instructor certification and became an adjunct instructor for the Training Academy, teaching cadets about prisoner transportation. She was also responsible for certifying all new Transportation Officers to fly armed. In 2021, Jenni was assigned to the Central Booking Facility, where she spent five years. During her time in Booking, she once again served as an FTO, training new officers and assisting with sergeant duties. Jenni joined the Recruiting Team in 2026 and is excited to take on the role of finding new candidates while sharing her knowledge and experience as a Corrections Officer. In her free time, Jenni enjoys spending time with her family and her corgis, relaxing on Lake Austin, and traveling.
Senior Deputy Charles "Chucky" Williams

Chucky has been part of the TCSO family since March of 2005. He spent his first few years as Corrections Officer where he was assigned to Building 1 and Complex Security at the Travis County Correctional Complex. While assigned to Complex Security, Chucky was a member of the Correctional Tactical Unit In June of 2008, he transferred to the Law Enforcement Bureau as a patrol deputy. While on patrol he prided himself in volunteering for numerous assignments such as helping each year with the Travis County Brown Santa Program which provides Thanksgiving and Christmas meals and gifts to families in Travis County. As a patrol deputy Chucky trained our newest deputies as a Field Training Officer. Additionally, he has been a member of our Special Response Team since 2008, where he was able to participate in the deployment to Jefferson County to assist during the Hurricane Harvey aftermath. Prior to joining the TCSO Recruiting Team, Chucky was on the Highway Enforcement and Accident Team for three years. During his time there, he acted as an Adjunct Instructor for the Training Academy teaching traffic stops for our new cadets. As a recruiter, he is actively searching for candidates to join this AWESOME TCSO Family!
