He graduated from Texas State University in 2016 and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Jake began his career with TCSO in Building 12 as a Corrections Officer, where he served from 2016-2018 before graduating from the TCSO Basic Peace Officer Course in July 2018. That same year, he was awarded the Life Saving Award for rescuing a civilian from a burning vehicle moments before it became fully engulfed in flames. From 2023-2025, Jake served as a Field Training Officer (FTO), mentoring and evaluating new deputies by modeling officer safety, sound decision-making, and professional community engagement. In 2025, he began assisting with the FTO School as an adjunct instructor, supporting the development and instruction of future Field Training Officers.
