To obtain crime statistics for your area since 1999, you may submit a request and provide exact addresses, block numbers, areas, and/or street names along with exact time periods. There is not a cost associated with this request. Disposition of Arrests
For felony cases, contact the Travis County District Clerk’s Office. For misdemeanor cases contact the Travis County Clerk's Office.
The Sheriff's office provides fingerprinting services at Central Command, 5555 Airport Blvd., Austin, TX 78751 on Tuesdays and Thursdays only, from 8:30-noon and 1:00-4:00pm. The cost is 1-2 cards: $10.00 a set, each additional card $5.00 per card. Acceptable forms of payment are exact cash (no change provided) or a check. You must have fingerprint card in hand, we do not supply the cards. Cards are available for free at the Granger Building Law Library, 314 W. 11 St., Ste. 140, (512) 854-4569. You can also purchase cards for $2.50 at Passport Express, on the corner of 11th St. and Guadalupe St.
Traffic Ticket Fines
The first step to resolving your ticket is to read the instructions on the back of the yellow copy of the citation and given to you by the officer. The back of your ticket contains information on how to resolve your citation. If you are not sure of the violation charged or the fine due, you will have to contact the Justice of the Peace.
Justices of the Peace preside over traffic court. On the back of your citation the officer will circle the Court you are to contact to make restitution or to ask for a court date. There are five Justice of the Peace elected by precinct in Travis County.

Reports may be purchased in person from 8am to 4pm, Monday through Friday at 5555 Airport Blvd., Austin, TX 78751. The price for a report is .10 cents per page. We will only release the portion of the report that is public information. Public information only contains the type of offense, date/time of offense, name of officer who responded and any items reported stolen or damaged. The public record will not contain any portion of the officer’s narrative. If your insurance company requests a copy of a report, the Public Record contains the information needed. An Open Records Request can provide you the detailed report, which contains the officer’s narrative. Accident Reports can be obtained by mail or in person M-F from 8am to 4pm.

Checks, money orders or cash is accepted. Cash is accepted only in person. Please have the correct amount since we do not always have funds available to make change. We do no accept credit cards/debit cards.
Reports under 10 days of the accident may not be available for purchase, please contact Central Records to inquire on the status of your report. The number is (512) 854-9749. Reports can take anywhere from two to 10 days to be submitted.
If you were involved in an accident and the officer issued you a Blue Form, the request must be completed by the person(s) involved in the collision and must be mailed (within 10 days of the collision) to:

Sheriff’s accident report will not be written if you have been issued a blue form.

Incarceration records checks through the Travis County Sheriff’s Office are from May 1988 to present. The Sheriff’s Office DOES NOT PROVIDE CRIMINAL HISTORIES OR CLEARANCE LETTERS. For complete and accurate criminal history information, refer to the Texas Department of Public Safety and or the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
You may come in person between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. You must have a current driver’s license, state-issued ID, military ID or passport. Other identifying information may be requested. There is a $15.00 fee payable to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office. Fees can be paid by exact cash, check or money order.
If you are requesting arrest/incarceration records information on another individual, you must provide us with a notarized letter signed by the individual or power of attorney, along with a copy of their ID. The letter must state that the individual authorizes us to release the information to you. The letter must contain the signature of the person and the signature must be notarized.
