On Tuesday, October 6th, 2015, neighborhoods throughout Travis County are invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “32nd Annual National Night Out” (NNO) crime and drug prevention event. National Night Out, is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and co-sponsored locally by Travis County Sheriff’s Office. From 6 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on October 6th 2015, residents in neighborhoods throughout Travis County and across Texas are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights, and spend the evening with neighbors and police.
We are inviting Travis County residents to register their National Night Out event with the Travis County Sheriff’s Office. When you register, a designated Travis County Sheriff’s Office representative will attend the event. Deadline for registration is September 22, 2015. Positive interactions with law enforcement (1) Heighten crime prevention awareness; (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime efforts: (3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships; and (4) Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Travis County Sheriff’s Office is available for interviews to heighten awareness of National Night Out, National Night Out registration and crime prevention.
