Death Case from June Ruled Homicide

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 25, 2022

Death Case from June Ruled Homicide

At approximately 3:30 am on June 28, 2022, deputies responded to a Deceased Person call in the 11200 block of Beach Rd. in Jonestown, TX. The 911 caller, Matthew Schultz, 43 of Leander reported to deputies that KEVIN CLEVISH, 39 of Leander had possibly overdosed on cocaine.

The investigation and autopsy revealed injuries and trauma to Clevish’s body. The detective’s initial investigation determined Clevish had been in an argument with Schultz, and during that argument Schultz physically assaulted Clevish. Whether or not drugs were a factor in Clevish’s death was a critical element, so detectives decided to wait for the final autopsy report before considering charges. TCSO’s investigation continued in the weeks that followed.

Final autopsy results received this week reveal Clevish had no drugs in his system, therefore the death has officially been ruled a homicide.

Matthew Schultz was arrested and charged with Murder late this afternoon. This makes the total number of homicide investigations for TCSO this year 11.
