TCSO Working Third Deceased Person on Lake Travis This Year

At approximately 7:45 pm on July 4, 2022, TCSO Deputies responded to an Assist EMS call at Mansfield Dam Park. The patient had reportedly been rescued from the water of Lake Travis by family members and a bystander, and CPR was underway. The patient was transported via Starflight to a local hospital for treatment.

On July 6, 2022, the patient was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, as is customary with any unnatural death on Lake Travis. Out of respect for the family involved, and because this is not a criminal incident, TCSO will not disclose the identity of the decedent via press release.

TCSO reminds patrons of Lake Travis that the best way to ensure your safety on the lake, or any other body of water, is to wear a life jacket. In the event of an emergency on the water, follow these steps:
