Deadly Shooting on FM 1100 is a Double HomicideSuspect in Custody
At 1:56 am on April 9, 2022, deputies responded to the 17000 block of FM 1100 after a 911 caller reported two people had been shot. Deputies discovered two Hispanic males inside an SUV, parked on the road. Both men had sustained at least one gunshot wound. RAUL MOLINA HERNANDEZ, 44 of Manor died on scene. LEONEL AYALA GAMINO, 31 of Port Arthur was transported to a local hospital. Gamino succumbed to his injuries on April 13, 2022.
Detectives immediately began the task of determining the events that led up to the death of Hernandez and Gamino. Following evidence at the scene and leads produced from family and friends of the decedents, they were able to connect ABEL BERMUDEZ-ORNELAS to the crime. Bermudez-Ornelas was arrested and charged with Murder on April 16, 2022. Bail is set at $500,000.
