Major Development in the Case of Missing Person Camerina Trujillo Perez

In the late evening hours of February 13, 2022, TCSO Deputies responded to assist Pflugerville Police Department at a commercial parking lot in the 12300 block of N SH 130 Northbound Service Road, where the vehicle of missing woman, Camerina Trujillo Perez was reportedly located.

The vehicle was indeed the 2014 Blue Chevrolet Sonic authorities have been searching for since January 25, 2022. In it, was the body of a female. The condition of her body indicated she had been deceased for a few weeks.

An autopsy was conducted by the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office today, and the decedent was positively identified as Carmerina Trujillo Perez. The cause and manner of death are pending the final report. TCSO Detectives are actively investigating how long Camerina’s vehicle was in that parking lot and how it came to be there.

On January 25, 2022, both Camerina Perez and Luis Montes were reported missing by family members. Detectives learned that the two of them had a dating relationship and were last seen together on January 24, 2022. Statements provided to detectives indicated there was a possibility Camerina could be in danger, as Luis had reportedly made threatening statements about Camerina in the past. A Clear Alert was issued, seeking the public’s help in locating them.

Detectives didn’t rule out any possibility while investigating the couple’s disappearance. As they pursued leads and gathered evidence, a disturbing chain of events began to emerge. Evidence indicates that in the early morning hours of January 25, 2022, Camerina was killed by Luis.

A warrant was issued for Luis Angel Montes for the murder of Camerina Trujillo Perez. Bail is set at $1 million. He is still at large.

Anyone with information about the case or the location of Luis Montes is asked to call the TCSO tip line at 512-854-1444 or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS (8477).
