Identity of Decedent Discovered on Cheddar Loop
At 11:02 am on December 8, 2021, deputies responded to a check welfare call at an apartment complex in the 1800 block of Cheddar Loop. JOSEPH NEAL, 36 of Austin was found deceased, with a gunshot wound. He was located inside a vehicle that was parked inside a garage.
Evidence at the scene revealed the wound was not self-inflicted and the nature of the investigation changed from Deceased Person to Murder.
Detectives are following several leads and have conducted interviews with people close to Neal. Evidence indicates this was an isolated incident.
