TCSO Investigating McKinney Falls Parkway Homicide

The Travis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after an adult male was fatally shot at a residence on McKinney Falls Parkway Sunday night.

At 8:51 p.m. on March 15, TCSO Dispatch received a 911 call from a woman reporting that a resident of her apartment on the 7000 block of McKinney Falls Parkway had been shot. Upon arrival deputies located an adult male in his 40s with an obvious gunshot wound. Lifesaving measures were attempted but were unsuccessful. The victim was pronounced deceased at 9:29 p.m.

The suspect, who fled the scene, was later identified Isaiah Dominick Esquivel, 23, of Austin. He was located at known address a short time after the shooting occurred and was detained without incident. Esquivel was booked into the Travis County Jail, charged with murder.

TCSO’s initial investigation indicates the apartment’s residents and Esquivel were known to each other and there is no threat to the public. The identity of the decedent will not be released pending positive identification by the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office and notification of next of kin.
