TCSO Officer-Involved Shooting on Hog Eye Road
At 9:36 p.m. on April 3, 2024, TCSO deputies responded to 9301 Hog Eye Road after receiving a 911 call requesting a welfare check. On scene, deputies encountered a man who was behaving erratically.
As deputies were attempting to deescalate the situation, the man presented a weapon. A TCSO deputy fired his weapon and struck the subject. The man was pronounced deceased on scene.
A full investigation is underway by the Texas Rangers. TCSO’s Criminal Investigations Division and TCSO Internal Affairs Unit are also conducting parallel investigations. The Texas Rangers is the lead agency in the investigation, therefore TCSO will not release further information regarding the investigation. The deputy who used lethal force will be placed on administrative assignment as the investigation continues.
