TCSO Working Homicide on Wells Branch Parkway

At 6:16 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024, deputies responded to an Assist EMS call after 911 received a report that someone had been shot at an apartment complex located on the 2800 block of Wells Branch Parkway. The victim was located in the breezeway of an apartment building, CPR was administered and the male was resuscitated. He was then transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

Multiple witnesses stayed on scene and are cooperating in the investigation. One person of interest has been detained. The persons involved in this case are known to each other and there is no indication that there is a threat to the public.

The identity of the victim, a male in his 20s, will be released pending positive identification by the Travis County Medical Examiner and notification of next of kin.
