 The Travis County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) is proud to provide a proactive community-wide
effort to address Teen Dating Violence by collaboratively joining with victims’ families and community partners.
   The Travis County Sheriff's Office provides free training opportunities for local law enforcement and school personnel by utilizing
the Center for Disease Control's 'Choose Respect' curriculum.
   Since 2006, TCSO has trained more than 50 law enforcement agencies and school districts on how to address teen
dating violence in Central Texas. In an effort to make this training available to everyone, TCSO offers this training free of charge.
   TCSO is committed to raising awareness of teen dating violence by working with its collaborators:
* Carolyn Mosley, mother of the late Ortralla Mosley, a victim of teen dating violence
* SafePlace Austin
* Texas Advocacy Project
* Sherry Matthews Advocacy Marketing
* Austin Graphics
* Austin Film Festival
   TCSO and its partners are committed to raising awareness of teen dating violence through Public Service Announcements from area
high school students:
     * 'Don‘t Kick A Dog' Austin High School, Katie Kies and Lucy Weberlein
     * 'Faces of Violence' Austin High School, Blake Lauritzen and Maggie Ximenes
     * 'Control is Not Love' Westlake High School, Coralee Trigger, Colleen Troxell, Sam Westerfield and Collin Berry
     * 'Talking To Yourself' Austin High School, Bessie Tassoulas, Laura McNairy and Brady Schwertfeger
* Print Campaign:
     'If He Hurts You, He Loves You Not - Violence is Not a Sign of Affection'
* Providing free training opportunities for local law enforcement and school personnel by utilizing the Center for Disease Control’s 'Choose Respect' curriculum, and n Conducting Community Outreach activities with collaborative partners and local youth.
   Annually in October, in recognition of National Domestic Violence Awareness month, and in partnership with the Austin Film Festival (AFF), we sponsor a contest for area teens to create a public service announcement (PSA) on Teen Dating Violence. Historically, the top three selected PSAs are announced the first week of February during Teen Dating Awareness and Prevention week.
