In April of 2001 we opened our new Criminal Justice Center located adjacent to the Travis County Jail off of
Nueces Street. It contains a direct supervision booking facility and handles all arrested persons in Travis County. As part of the Blackwell-Thurman Criminal Justice Facility, the tower also houses the criminal courts, probation offices and the District Attorney's Office. The Austin Municipal Court also has offices in the Central Booking Facility.
