Crime Statistics 
   For crime statistics for your area since 1999, submit a request and provide exact addresses, block numbers, areas, and/or street names along with exact time periods. At no charge, the Community Outreach section can generate a report for up a year for specified streets at your request. Call (512) 854.9770.

Disposition on Arrests 
   For felony cases, contact the Travis County District Clerk’s Office. For misdemeanor cases contact the Travis County Clerk's Office. 

Traffic Ticket Fines 
   The first step to resolving your ticket is to read the instructions on the back of the yellow copy of the citation and given to you by the officer. The back of your ticket contains information on how to resolve your citation. If you are not sure of the violation charged or the fine due, you will have to contact the Justice of the Peace. 
   Justices of the Peace preside over traffic court. On the back of your citation the officer will circle the Court you are to contact to make restitution or to ask for a court date. There are five Justice of the Peace elected by precinct in Travis County.

Incident Reports
   Reports may be purchased in person from 8am to 4pm, Monday through Friday. The price for a report is 10 cents per page. We will only release the portion of the report that is public information. Public information only contains the type of offense, date/time of offense, name of officer who responded and any items reported stolen or damaged. The public record will not contain any portion of the officer’s narrative. If your insurance company requests a copy of a report, the Public Record contains the information needed
   The detailed report will contain the officer’s narrative. For a more detailed report, submit your written request asking for the full and complete report or the portion we are allowed to release. Your reuqest should be addressed to Shelly Eaton, Paralegal for the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, P.O. Box 1748, Austin, Texas, 78767, or via email. Vehicle Accident Reports
   Accident Reports can be obtained by mail or in person from 8am to 4pm, Monday through Friday, or download the Accident Report Request Form. 
   By mail, send a written request with a check (do not mail cash) made payable to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office at P.O. Box 1748, Austin, Texas, 78767, or in person at 5555 Airport Blvd., Austin, Texas, 78751.

Certified report				$8.00
   Checks, money orders or cash is accepted. Cash is accepted only in person. Please have the correct amount since we do not always have funds available to make change. We do no accept credit cards/debit cards. 
   Reports under 10 days of the accident may not be available for purchase, please contact Central Records to inquire on the status of your report. The number is (512) 854.9749. Reports can take anywhere from two to 10 days to be submitted. 

Blue-Formed Accidents
   If you were involved in an accident and the officer issued you a Blue Form, the request must be completed by the person(s) involved in the collision and must be mailed to the Texas Department of Public Safety, P.O. Box 4087, Austin, Texas 78773-001, within 10 days of the collision. 
   Sheriff’s accident report will not be written if you have been issued a blue form. 

Faxed Reports
   Reports cannot be faxed. They may be purchased in person at 5555 Airport Blvd., Austin, Texas 78751, or we will mail the report to your address upon receipt of payment.

Clearance Letters/Background Checks
   For a clearance/ background check, you may come in person between 8am and 4 pm. You must have a current driver’s license, state-issued ID, military ID or passport. The charge is $15.00, made payable to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office. 
   Regarding previous arrest record information on another individual, we require you have identification. You must also provide us with a letter signed by the individual you are requesting a background check. The letter must state that the individual authorizes us to release the information to you. The letter must contain the signature of the person you requesting a background checked, and the signature must be notarized.
