More than 350 active volunteers work in the jail contributing well more than 10,000 hours per year. Volunteers make up members of jail ministry, leaders of our 12-Step recovery groups, as well as teachers and tutors in our educational and vocational training classes. It is necessary to establish certain guidelines for the selection of volunteers who may be providing certain services in the jail which includes submitting a volunteer application, background check and interview with department head.
