We are thrilled for your interest in volunteering with the Travis County Sheriff’s Office. There are many areas to volunteer, whether you want to assist law enforcement and/or corrections, or help at one of our many community events.

Chaplains' Program

Ministers and Lay People are welcome to volunteer with our Chaplains’ Program within our Travis County Jail and Travis County Correctional Complex. Please call (512) 854-4190 if you are interested in this integral program.

Explorers Post No. 1099

The Sheriff's Office Explorers Post consists of weekly classes for those between 14-20 years of age, that provides the youth with hands-on practical training to develop a greater understanding about criminal justice and the role played by the Sheriff's Office. Jail Volunteers

More than 350 active volunteers work in the jail contributing to more than 10,000 hours per year. Volunteers consist of members of jail ministry, leaders of our 12-Step recovery groups, as well as teachers and tutors in our educational and vocational training classes. Victim Services Division

Victim Services staff provide on-scene response to individuals affected by crime and crisis circumstances. The Sheriff's Office has demonstrated continued dedication to crime victims by expanding the unit and services. There are currently seven full-time staff and an active volunteer base.
