(AUSTIN, TX) December 17, 2012 – The Travis County Sheriff’s Office is making it easy to save lives this holiday season by hosting blood drives on Wednesday, December 19th and Thursday, December 20th. December 19th, volunteers can donate from 9 am – 1 pm at the TCSO Ruiz Building, 5555 Airport Blvd. To make an appointment, call Jeannie Maldonado, (512) 854-9788. Thursday, December 20th, volunteers can donate from 6 am – 8 am and 1 pm – 3 pm at the TCSO Training Academy, 3614 Bill Price Rd in Del Valle. Sign up by contacting Leah Stubbs, (512) 854-4194. Walk-ins are always welcome!

The Blood Center of Central Texas applauds Travis County Sheriff’s Office for its ongoing commitment to help boost the local blood supply during a critical time of year! TCSO hosted a very successful blood drive program this past summer following the 4th of July holiday. More than 100 lifesaving blood donations were made over a 3 day period.

Central Texas is full of compassionate people, all with different blood types. Each blood type benefits the community in different ways while helping to save lives. The Center is currently seeing a particular need for type 0- and A-. If you are one of these blood types, we are in particular need of your gift. Please consider donating at one of TCSO’s blood drives on December 19th and December 20th…Life is in your hands.
