The 6th Annual COTPMCO | February 27 - March 2, 2019

Presented by Professional Services Janitorial Service of Texas and Cowboy Harley Davidson of Austin

The COTPMCO is excited to announce our move back to the City of Buda, TX. We truly appreciate the opportunity to host last year’s event at Typhon Texas in the City of Pflugerville, TX but after much discussion amongst our board we have decided to move back to Buda. We have some great layout changes, rule updates and many more competitor perks coming your way in 2019 as we bring back some of our Buda sponsors and add to the growing list of supports! We are looking forward to continuing to raise funds for a couple of fantastic beneficiaries including our forever-beneficiary, The Sunshine Kids Foundation!

75% of funds raised by the 6th Annual Capital of Texas Police Motorcycle Chute Out (COTPMCO) will benefit our headlining beneficiary The Sunshine Kids Foundation. The Sunshine Kids Foundation has been involved in COTPMCO since 2015 and we are honored to work with them again to make a small difference in the lives of children with cancer. The remaining 25% has been awarded through an application process to the Greater San Marcos Youth Council.

COTPMCO is a combined effort between seven local Law Enforcement Agencies, each one plays an important role in overall organization and success of the annual event.

Event History

In 2014, the Travis County Sheriff’s office, along with partnering agencies from Williamson, Travis and Hays Counties, hosted the inaugural COTPMCO in Buda, TX. The event was a huge success thanks to the hours of work put in by the law enforcement agencies, incredible support by sponsors and vendors and a great showing of 60+ motorcycle cops from 20+ agencies from Texas and Louisiana. Spectators came out by the hundreds to watch the officers compete, enjoy the exhibitor show, watch jaw dropping stunt riders, check out motorcycles and talk with officers. After three full days of events and community support, we raised $20,000 to be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project and the Center for Child Protection.

Through an outpouring of support and a little marketing, the 2nd Annual COTPMCO grew to 85 motorcycle cops from 27 agencies, representing eight different states. New events were introduced and a new Mr. Rodeo structure was put in place. The new structure was well received and carried over to subsequent years. Over the past five years the COTPMCO has hosted as many as 165 riders during a single year and had the privilege of accommodating riders from 23 different states and Canada. Through heat, humidity and random rain the men and women have competed in multiple events now spread over a four day period full of training and excitement, all free to spectators. None of this would be possible without the continued support and loyalty be everyone involved.

As the event continues to grow, we are humbled by the support we have received and thank all of the competitors, volunteers, staff members, directors, sponsors, exhibitors and the City of Buda. Over the past four years, COTPMCO has raised just over $100,000 to donate to various charities and causes. Moving into the 6th year the mission still remains; train officers to improve skills and build confidence, develop a strong network of resources for motorcycle cops and raise funds for charity, riding for a cause!
