The 5th Annual COTPMCO | March 7-10, 2018

Presented by JP's Peace, Love & Happiness Foundation

Over the past four years the COTPMCO has partnered with the City of Buda, TX to grow the COTPMCO. Words can’t express how much we truly appreciate their continued support and backing from all aspects. The decision to move the event for 2018 was not made lightly but after hours of discussion and research the Board of Directors ultimately opted to move the the 5th Annual COTPMCO to Typhoon Texas in Pflugerville, TX. There are some great things in store for competitors and volunteers this year to celebrate our 5th year anniversary and we are looking forward to continuing to raise funds for a couple of fantastic beneficiaries!

75% of funds raised by the 5th Annual Capital of Texas Police Motorcycle Chute Out (COTPMCO) will benefit the Sunshine Kids Foundation, our headlining beneficiary The Sunshine Kids Foundation. The Sunshine Kids Foundation has been involved in COTPMCO since 2015 and we are honored to work with them again to make a small difference in the lives of children with cancer. The remaining 25% will be awarded to a non-profit organization through an application process; the Board of Directors is in the process of selecting the beneficiary. The remaining 25% will be awarded to Happy Birthdays, a Central Texas non-profit who provides birthday memories by creating birthday parties in a box for foster and homeless children of all ages.

COTPMCO is a combined effort between seven local Law Enforcement Agencies, each one plays an important role in overall organization and success of the annual event.

Event History

In 2014, the Travis County Sheriff’s office, along with partnering agencies from Williamson, Travis and Hays Counties, hosted the inaugural COTPMCO in Buda, TX. The event was a huge success thanks to the hours of work put in by the law enforcement agencies, amazing support by sponsors and vendors and a great showing of 60+ motorcycle cops from 20+ agencies from Texas and Louisiana. Spectators came out by the hundreds to watch the officers compete, enjoy the exhibitor show, watch jaw dropping stunt riders, check out motorcycles and talk with officers. After three full days of events and community support, we raised $20,000 to be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project and the Center for Child Protection.

Through an outpouring of support and a little marketing, the 2nd Annual COTPMCO grew to 85 motorcycle cops from 27 agencies, representing eight different states. New events were introduced and a new Mr. Rodeo structure was put in place. The new structure was well received, so we carried it over to the 3rd Annual Capital of Texas Police Motorcycle Chute Out in 2016, during which 124 motorcycle cops from 44 different agencies, representing 10 different states and Canada participated. Despite the heat, humidity and random rain storms, these men and our very first female rider, competed in newly designed courses that extended over an extended four day period. In 2017 the 4th Annual Capital of Texas Police Motorcycle Chute Out hosted a record breaking 165 motor officers from 13 different states including Maui County PD and the US Secret Service. None of this would be possible without the continued support and loyalty be everyone involved.

As the event continues to grow, we are humbled by the support we have received and thank all of the competitors, volunteers, staff members, directors, sponsors, exhibitors and the City of Buda. Over the past four years, COTPMCO has raised just shy of $80,000 to donate to various charities and causes. Moving into the 5th year the mission still remains; train officers to improve skills and build confidence, develop a strong network of resources for motorcycle cops and raise funds for charity, riding for a cause!
