The Travis County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Battle of the Badges on January 22, 2016 at the Austin Convention Center! On that day, local law enforcement will challenge the reigning title holders, the firefighters, in a USA Boxing sanctioned event. During this battle, the best and bravest men and women get in the ring and lay it all on the line for charity. Fundraising efforts from the Battle of the Badges 2016 will benefit Partnerships for Children, an organization devoted to providing Child Protective Services’ caseworkers with the resources they need to better serve the kids in our community.
In 2014 the Travis County Sheriff’s Office hosted the first ever Battle of the Badges in the Central Texas area. The event brought together more than 2,500 spectators and countless volunteers in an effort to raise money for charity and enjoy a night of incredible entertainment. Spectators enjoyed 16 action packed bouts where the Austin Fire Department and the Travis County ESDs dominated by winning 11 of the 16 bouts leaving the Law Enforcement team hungry to earn the title in 2016. In addition, the enthusiastic ring girls, amazing audio/visual, smack talk videos and competitive boxing made it a night to remember...and we have our sponsors and supporters to thank for pulling it all off. We are coming together again to do it all over on January 22, 2016 so mark your calendars and get your seat!
