Body Recovered From Lake Travis
On Friday, April 22, 2016 at 12:19pm, a body of a man was recovered from Lake Travis by the Sheriff’s
Underwater Recovery Team. He had been reported missing to the Jonestown Police Department on April
21, 2016, at about 10:15pm. The Jonestown report stated he was last seen on a boat dock at 17930 Easy
Street, in Jonestown.
The Sheriff’s Underwater Recovery team was deployed to the address and found him in 13 feet of water
near the dock. He was then taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office so they could positively identify the
body and determine the cause of death.
He was positively identified as;
Keith Van Ausdall, 45 years old,
After the initial investigation it was determined that there were no signs of foul play and that Mr. Van
Ausdall fell into the water. While the Autopsy report will not be final for several weeks, pending the
results of toxicology reports, all evidence points to accidental drowning.
