Burglary Prevention

Crime Statistics

Crime Statistics for your neighborhood can be provided to you by your sector. To determine what sector you reside in, please view map. If you reside in Baker or Charlie sectors, contact the East Command (512) 854-9721 or if you reside in Adam or David sectors, contact West Command (512) 854-9728.

Home Security Surveys

No home is burglar proof if a professional burglar targets your home. Upon request, certified crime prevention inspectors provide security surveys as a public service. These surveys are intended to provide basic security precautions, contact Janie Vasquez (512) 854-9589.

National Night Out

Each year, TCSO and neighborhood watch groups team up with National Night Out. Known as “Americas Night Out Against Crime,” a unique crime and drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, contact Janie Vasquez (512) 854-9589.

Neighborhood Watch Program

The Neighborhood Watch Program brings citizens in a community together for the reduction of crime in their area, increasing citizen awareness through education and participation. Law Enforcement Programs

Citizens' Academy/Alumni

Provides citizens with a working knowledge of the criminal justice system as it works in Travis County. The program increases awareness about the TCSO and improves community rapport. Citizens On Patrol Services (COPS)

Dedicated volunteers are organized to serve as the eyes and ears of the Sheriff's Office. Each COPS volunteer has successfully completed the Citizens' Academy, as well as completed the COPS field training program. For more information, contact  Vince Galloway (512) 854-4989.

Explorers Post No. 1099

Domestic Violence Outreach

The Travis County Sheriff's Office participates in events and programs that advocate against domestic violence. You can find out more information about past events and upcoming awareness and fund raising campaigns HERE.

Gun Safety

TCSO participates in the nationwide program, Project Child Safe, to help ensure safe and responsible firearms ownership and storage. The Sheriff's Office provides a cable-style gun lock. Please contact Vince Galloway (512) 854-4989  for more information.

Bullying Prevention

TCSO is a chapter of the national Student’s Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE) organization. We provide presentations aimed at decreasing the potential for violence by educating students on ways they can ensure their own personal safety and prevent crime. Child ID

Child ID Events are provided to obtain fingerprints of your child for you to keep in the event your child is missing. For information regarding upcoming events or to schedule an event, contact Janie Vasquez (512) 854-9589.
