Requirements

As a minimum, applicants with the Sheriff’s Office should meet the following requirements:  

Age: 18 years of age or older (Non-Officer Applicants) or 21 years of age or older (Officer Applicants) 

Citizenship: All Applicants for Corrections Officer, Deputy Sheriff and Security Coordinator MUST be a U.S. citizen or a Naturalized citizen.
All other applicants must be able to show proof of residency or a work visa. ALL APPLICANTS must pass a complete and thorough background investigation.

Education: As identified in the position description. In general, a high school diploma or equivalent is the minimum education requirement. Certain positions may require additional education and/or experience.  

Criminal History: No record of conviction or arrest for a felony or misdemeanor as outlined in the section on Disqualifiers. 

Valid Driver’s License: Some positions may require a valid license
