The Travis County Sheriff's Office Offender Re-entry Resource Guide provides information on non-profit, faith-based, government and for-profit community service agencies, each sharing the same mission to serve former offenders and their families.

The guide offers a directory of service deigned to help practitioners who provide support and guidance to those individuals seeking a successful transition from incarceration to the community. Immediate and central access to a wide range of services establish a community-wide network of participating agencies, aimed at connecting transi tioning individuals with the specific service they need to sustain and improve their lives.


2-1-1 Texas delivers efficient aoces to the most appropriate sources of help and information. Anywhere in Texas, anyone can call 2-1-1 for free information and referrals to health and human service agencies, non-profit and faith-based organizations, disaster relief resources and volunteer opportunities. The 2-1-1 helpline in Central Texas maintains a comprehensive community resource database of services providing assistance with health care, employment, educational, legal, housing, counseling, transportation needs, and much more.

Its purpose is to implement collaborative community-wide strategies for the effective reintegration of formerly incarcerated persons, thereby reducing recidivism, supporting victims and promoting public safety in Austin/Travis County.


The Reentry Policy Council is a national project coordinated by the Council of State Governments Justice Center; a national nonprofit organization that serves policymakers at the local, state, and federal levels from all branches of government. The Justice Center provide practical, nonpartisan advice and consensus-driven strategy - informed by available evidence - to increase public safety and strengthen communities.


The President's Prisoner Reentry Initiative (PRI) is designed to provide funding to state units of government to develop and implement institutional and community oonections- based offender reentry programs.
