Cadet Corrections Officer
* Starting Salary: $33,750

* Hours: Full-time and works some holidays, nights and weekends

Hourly Essential Functions:
Cadets attend training academy to become a Certified Jailer. Books, transfers, transports, and releases inmates with attention to the health, safety, and security of other officers, inmates, and the public. Conducts inspections and inmates searches. Checks, completes, and processes official papers and documents. Participates in safety inspections and fire drills. Provides informal counseling to inmates. Conducts head counts. Intervenes and resolves crisis situations such as fights and medical emergencies. Assists with the personal needs of inmates such as telephone calls, mail, visits. Serves meals. Monitors and assists visitors. May be assigned to plan, organize, and conduct recreational programs for inmates. May be assigned to maintenance duties. Responds to and may be required to administer medical first aid, CPR, etc. Performs other duties as may be assigned. 

Required Qualifications 
Education and experience equivalent to a high school graduation or its equivalent; prior to being promoted to Corrections Officer, must obtain Jailer Certification from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education (TCLEOSE).

Deputy Sheriff - Law Enforcement 
* Salary Information: $45,485, up to $49,235
     Starting Salary: $45,485
     5-9 years experience: $47,322
     10+ years experience: $49,235
     Experienced Officers may take Senior Officer Exam for additional pay

* Hours: Full-time with some holidays, nights and weekends

Essential Functions:
Patrols an assigned area and responds to emergency calls and routine compaints. Issues traffic citations and directs traffic; investigates traffic accidents and crimes against persons and property. Serves warrants, makes arrests and starts booking procedures on arrested individuals. May serve court processes, collect evidence, guard and transport prisioners, patrol lake areas by boat or on horseback; may address and work with community groups to foster good relations with the public. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications:
Experience and education equivalent to a high school graduation or its equivalent and basic certification by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE). 
Must be at least 21 years of age with preferably two years of experience of law enforcement. 
Must pass all written, physical and psychological tests required. 

Preferred: Bilingual in English/Spanish
